Ten Days of Prayer & Fasting

Every year as Forward in Faith, we begin the year with Ten Days of Prayer and Fasting from January 1 to 10, according to the vision that God gave to Apostle Dr. EH Guti. During this time, we dedicate ourselves to seeking the Lord and offering our lives to Him as we enter the new year. We do this because we do not know what the year holds, but we trust that God will guide and protect us as we move forward. We invite you to join us in this sacred time of prayer and fasting.

How To Participate

Each year we receive the Ten Days of Prayer and Fasting letter which was established by Dr. Guti and is now written through the leading of the Holy Spirit by the national executive in each FIFMI nation. Download and read the 2023 Ten Days Prayer Letter for FIFMI USA. Here is how you can participate in the Ten Days of Prayer and Fasting.

1. Reading the Ten Days Letter – Each day, take time to read the Ten Days letter along with the scriptures cited in the letter. This allows us to understand and remember the purpose of what we’re doing.
2. Praying for the Prayer Items for Each Day – Read the prayer items for each given day and pray for these items during times of prayer. As we all unite to pray in agreement, we see God moving mightily and causing things to happen.
3. Fasting – We spend the day fasting from food and drink, then break our fast at 4pm (or later for those who are led to go further).
4. Joining the Regional Morning Prayer – We encourage everyone to join morning prayer from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. on the regional prayer line. Call or text 832-299-5720 for access to the regional prayer line.
5. Having Personal Prayer & Bible Reading – Most importantly we engage in individual prayer and spend time reading the Word of God. Seek God for your life and take authority over the year.
6. Joining the Chain Prayer – We take part in a 24-hour prayer chain. Our goal is to fill all 24 hours of the day with prayer. We encourage all FIF Houston members to sign up for a spot on the 24 hour prayer chain. God will not let your life remain the same when you seek Him in this unique way.
7. Attending the Evening Prayer Service at church – We meet from 7pm to 9pm for Corporate Prayer at FIF Houston Church. If you cannot make it in person you can login through zoom as well.
